

Bardstown Road Presbyterian Church has a rich and storied history of mission support in the Louisville Community and the world at large.
Although a small church, we are engaged in a surprisingly large number of mission activities that provide opportunities to use the many gifts and talents God has bestowed upon us to make a difference in the world around us.
Living Waters for the World
- Living Waters for the World is the
Synod of Living Waters global mission project, working to end the world water
crisis and spreading God's word through action. BRP supports LWW financially and also plays a
key role in LWW activities in the
Buckhorn Children's Center - BRP supports Buckhorn's mission working with at-risk youth through financial contributions, as well as an annual mission trip to maintain the Center's facility in Buckhorn, KY.

provide for ethnic and racial diversity across our faith.
World Mission
Presbyterian Shared Mission
Support - BRP is a "Five for Five" church, meaning we support Presbyterian
mission around the corner and around the globe through our giving to PC (USA)
shared mission support and the four church-wide special offerings: One Great
Hour of Sharing, Christmas Joy Offering, Pentecost Offering, and Peacemaking
Offering .
International Missionary Support - We support global mission through financial support of PC (USA) World Mission.
Refugee Resettlement - Partnering with Deer Park Baptist Church, we have helped resettle two families through our involvement with Kentucky Refugee Ministries.
Community
Mission
Bellewood - We support The
Bellewood Children's Home, which assists youth who are at risk from neglect or
abuse, and we provide space at BRP for other Bellewood programs that work with
teens and young mothers.
Habitat for Humanity - BRP teams with other Presbyterian churches in Louisville to build a Habitat House each year.
NeighborFest - Each summer, we partner with Deer Park Baptist Church and host a block-party at BRP to foster stronger community relationships.
Project Warm - Each winter, members of the congregation team up to weatherize the homes of elderly and disabled Louisvillians to help save energy and reduce their utility costs.
Farmers' Market / Sustainable Agriculture - BRP hosts a thriving farmers' market each Saturday that supports local farmers, and we also participate in the Fresh Stop CSA at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Highlands Community Ministries - As an original founding partner of Highlands Community Ministries, BRP continues to support various programs within HCM, including the Individual and Family Assistance Program (IFAP), which provides assistance to people in need, and the annual Week in the Highlands celebration.
Homeless Ministry - We support both Wayside Christian Mission as well as St. John's Day Center as they meet different needs of Louisville's homeless community providing: support services and overnight lodging to women and parents with children and a daytime center where homeless men can receive free legal and military-benefits assistance, as well as job training, and a place to receive mail.
Kitchen Ministries - BRP is committed to just and sustainable agricultural practices and to using local produce. We host events (100-mile pot luck) that promote "local-vores," as well as providing a source for nutritious meals for those in need.
Schmid Highlands Center for Learning and Spiritual Growth - A BRP program that focuses on learning as a way of removing barriers and bringing people together to promote wholeness and justice in our community. Topics offered range from spiritual/physical health and nutrition to meditation, and local history. Programs are led by local leaders/practitioners.
Presbyterian Community Center - BRP has a long history of volunteer effort and financial support of PCC as it endeavors to meet the various needs of the residents of Smoketown.
Counseling Services - BRP provides family and individual counseling in the Highlands area and is partnering with other churches and denominations to create the Pastoral Institute of Charity - an outreach ministry to Louisville's growing Hispanic community.

In 2011, just over 11%
of BRP's operating budget went to mission and service programs.

In addition, a percentage of the Peacemaking and Pentecost offerings are allocated to the Mission and Service Task Force to be distributed to programs that support our church mission statement.
